 We're back...again!

News about the W1CKD repeaterThe repeater is back on the air...again!

The problem had to do with the TX channel element as expected. After some tweaking and help from Jeff at Southern Maine Communications monitoring our output with a service monitor in Sanford, we are back on the air with our transmit frequency within 25Hz of 444.600 MHz.

Another discovery is that a wall mounted fan used to circulate air in the building is actually a functioning air conditioner! The unit was put on high cool mode and between it and the box fan attached to the repeater cabinet blowing in hurricane mode across the PA, the exciter and the power supply, we should not have future heat problems.

Speaking of heat, within the next month we will take another trip up the hill to install a new 6 meter antenna thanks to Mike - G6DHU, revive the 6 meter link, install the temperature sensors, do some other fine tuning and turn on the ceramic heater to keep the building warm during the winter months.
