 | Interference Identified!!! |
 Thanks to the complete stupidity of the latest moron interfering with the machine, the individual has been identified! While the particulars cannot be released until a formal charge is brought against the person or an arrest is made, the U.S. Marshals now have more than enough information to take action.
The break came this morning as the individual decided to play with the repeater at 0-dark-30. Instead of turning the repeater off, I got in my vehicle and drove to the area where I already had a bearing crossing derived from interference that took place a couple of nights before. After I arrived in the area, the individual decided to play with the repeater again which gave me more than enough to trace the signal right to the front door! After I had enough evidence I turned the repeater off and with a handheld I transmitted on the repeater output frequency to notify the individual that I was outside. Amazing enough while I was doing that, the individual (who obviously thought the repeater was still up) decided to try to key over me by transmitting on the repeater input frequency!!! Talk about an idiot! Since I was monitoring the input frequency with the direction finder, it gave me even more evidence to use.
The evidence has been turned over to the U.S. Marshals Service for further action. While I could have made contact with the individual and charged them with a State crime, I would really like to see this person stand before a Federal judge.
Stay tuned to your local news for further information. I'm sure once action is taken, the identity of the individual will be made public and all I can say for now is it should be interesting!
