 Quick update...

Echolink news and announcementsHere is a quick update on the Echolink side of the house. Last week I made a modification on how our repeater audio goes out to the world on Echolink. Instead of using the "tinny" control link audio coming down from the hill which is double preemphasized (because of previous modifications to the controller) we are now using audio directly off the repeater output to feed Echolink. The role of the control link radio for Echolink now is that of COS control. Since the link radio retransmits the repeater receiver input down the link, when someone is done transmitting to the repeater, the link goes dead telling Echolink there is nothing further to transmit. So in this configuration, we can send good quality audio out to the world with no worries of unnecessary delays or tones associated with it.
